How I miss her deep chocolate stained irises every day. I yearn to see the sway of her tail as well as the way she sashays her entire nimble body when she walks. Her ears would perk up whenever I call her while her eyes widen a fraction full of wonder and yet annoyance. Even her remarkably sassy attitude is very much appealing to me and I would not mind in the slightest if she would completely ignore me as usual. I can hear her barks and grunts echoing within my head, only further adding onto my desperate pleas to see her. Leaving her is the most difficult challenge I have faced so far in attending Virginia Tech. As I enviously watch a few people walk their dogs I unfortunately become reminded of my own. She is absolutely perfect in every single possible way and form. Her charcoal tainted fur glistens in sunlight, and her bushy tail sweeps every step she takes in an elegant motion. She has the cutest patch of pure white painted on her chest and her adorable paws as well. Given that she is a mix between a border collie and a cocker spaniel mix, she has the most charming floppy ears which have many forms. I cannot forget her smile. She has the most endearing smile in which her pearly white canines make an appearance.
They say that a dog takes after its owner. I find that statement entertaining due to the absurd similarities between my dog and my sister. I suppose that ever since my sister took her out of her pen and named her, she has many more characteristics influenced by her rather than me. A perfect example would be their personalities. For a dog, she has a high-and-mighty aura about her, but I would be lying if I said I did not love that about her either. She also refuses to eat without anyone watching her; I am not entirely sure where she received this trait. When no one is watching or nearby, she scavenges through the trash cans in search of food. She would consume everything except the vegetables. There would be remnants of a hamburger scattered across the floor with only the lettuce, tomatoes, and onions remaining. When I or someone else finds out about her naughty act, she wears the saddest puppy eyes that I simply cannot resist. Her tail is tucked neatly between her legs with her ears are angled smoothly downward. I miss everything about her and wish that I could bring her here, but unfortunately she is a medium sized dog who causes far too much trouble to be handled in a location such as Virginia Tech.

  1. I too had to leave behind my dog before I left for college, so I can relate to where you are getting at. I also wish I could have brought my dog to Virginia Tech as well, but unfortunately, most pets are not allowed.

  2. My furry companion had to stay behind aswell when I left for school. His name was Bear, because he sorta looked like a bear when he was a puppy. I miss him so much. When i would get home late from work and the house was asleep, i would just lay beside him and rub his belly for like 30 mins. It was just so relaxing to come home from a hard day at work and pet my Bear as he slept. I definitely need to teach him how to use Skype next time I go back. :P
